I am moving this week and into the next. A new apartment seven miles from where I live now. I am closer to my family and farther from my job.

I am currently working on a ‘book’ of sorts. Remember Arthur Spiderwick’s Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You? It’s like that, only with a lot more detail. Instead of full pictures of each animal there are certain specialized parts shown (like the paws of this one which are unique, or an explanation of the gait of that one, or the distinctive pupils of this one... etc.). Honestly, the only reason I’m making a ‘book’ like this is so I can remember all of it! It’s sad. I sat the other night going through pages upon pages of old art work and writings, searching for any creatures or beings I may have forgotten to put on the master list (that list being delineated by non-sentient, semi-sentient, and sentient). I got them all, except for the two unnamed ones. I wish they would hurry up and reveal their names so I could write them down. For now they are the Blues and the Browns.

My car had a vet appointment today (vet because it’s an Impala, and Impalas need veterinarians sometimes), and the noise I’ve been hearing was simply a metal plate that had gotten twisted in the wrong direction. They twisted it back, gave her some new oil, and sent us on our way. Thursday, the cat has a (real) vet appointment just for the booster shots all cats need after a year.
